Who You Are
You're a Senior Architect and Revit rockstar with a builder's mindset and a deep understanding of how things come together in the field. You pair architectural experience with expert-level Revit skills to produce high-fidelity, constructible BIM models that reflect how a building is actually built.
You know Revit inside and out-families, phasing, parameters, templates, and coordination — and you model with the precision needed for downstream estimating and fabrication. You take pride in clean, coordinated models and detailed, buildable drawing sets.
You thrive in the execution phase, translating design intent into documentation that's ready to build. You also help define BIM standards for the office, developing templates, libraries, and modeling conventions that keep projects consistent. And you collaborate with Buildplan's software team to structure BIM content that integrates seamlessly with our custom project and estimating tools.
You're excited by technology but grounded in construction reality. You thrive in a startup environment where your experience helps shape the systems and standards for how we deliver great projects.

What You'll Be Doing
1. Project Execution & Documentation
Lead the production of construction drawings and documentation in Revit.
Model, document, and coordinate BIM elements for interior renovation architectural projects.
Develop detailed millwork and fabrication drawings, coordinating with manufacturers and fabricators.
Model existing conditions using point clouds and a scan-to-BIM workflow
Ensure deliverables meet Buildplan's quality standards for precision, constructability, and
coordination.

2. BIM Standards & Asset Development
Help define office BIM standards, including family naming conventions, template setup, and view organization.
Create and manage standardized Revit families, templates, and schedules for reuse across projects.
Collaborate with Buildplan's computational design team to ensure standards are aligned with automated workflows.
Develop organized project structures that support model data extraction for takeoffs and specifications.

3. Collaboration & Quality Assurance
Work closely with project architects, designers, and visualization teams to ensure smooth model handoffs and coordinated deliverables.
Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to verify that BIM content supports accurate material quantities and fabrication data.
Participate in internal reviews and contribute to developing best practices for model quality and documentation.

Qualifications

Must-Have
Professional degree in Architecture or equivalent technical experience. 5-10 years of professional experience producing construction documents.
Expert proficiency in Revit (modeling, documentation, view templates, and family creation).
Strong understanding of construction detailing, material assemblies, and fabrication coordination.
Experience producing detailed millwork shop drawings.
Excellent understanding of BIM standards, model organization, and quality assurance. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with designers and vendors.

Nice-to-Have
Experience with point clouds / scan-to-BIM workflows.
Familiarity with fabrication software or coordination tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, Rhino).
Experience developing or maintaining BIM templates and family libraries for firms. Interest in modern data-driven BIM workflows and integration with procurement or estimating tools.
