About Buildplan
Buildplan is a tech-enabled design-build platform powered by a collaborative workspace where
AEC teams and AI agents get work done together, delivering design excellence within budget,
and on time. At its core is a collaborative workspace that moves projects from concept to
completion powered by our building construction graph — a digital twin of the project where
designs, specifications, digital models, estimates, and tasks are all connected. Every project
decision lives in one structured environment, replacing scattered PDFs, digital models, and
spreadsheets.
We are reinventing BIM and the Common Data Environment (CDE) to support modern,
connected, collaborative workflows. With extensions that connect directly to industry-standard
desktop software like Revit, a real-time online workspace for teams, and a marketplace that
bridges design and supply chain, Buildplan delivers smarter procurement, seamless
collaboration, and mobile-first access in the field — eliminating costly rework and keeping
projects on track.
BuildPlan acts as your design-build partner, connecting you with vetted professionals and a
marketplace of trusted product vendors. Our platform provides the collaborative digital
backbone that streamlines design coordination, procurement, and construction workflows. The
result is a seamless path from concept to completion, with projects delivered on time and on
budget.
Who You Are
You’re a CG artist and AI enthusiast with strong core visualization skills. You have an eye for
interiors, materials, and composition, and you’re fluent in traditional tools like Unreal Engine /
Twinmotion and Photoshop for texturing, lighting, and rendering.
Unlike traditional archviz roles focused on one-off hero shots, this role emphasizes speed,
iteration, and realism-for-design: turning around high-quality visuals quickly, updating them
weekly, and publishing to our client-facing platform portal.
You embrace AI rendering as a core process. You use ComfyUI and advanced techniques to
transform base CG screenshots, photos or sketches into consistent, controlled results. You can
script in Python, developing automations that automate Unreal workflows and connects them
cloud services through REST APIs.
You thrive in a startup environment where workflows are unstructured, processes are evolving,
and priorities can shift quickly. You’re agile, comfortable working without rigid direction, and
eager to be part of shaping how workflows and roles are defined.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. CGI with Unreal
● Import and optimize geometry from Revit and other sources.
● Create real-time renderings, still images, and panoramas for web delivery.
● Build realistic interior scenes with strong lighting, composition, and material work.
● Develop textures using Photoshop or procedural techniques inside Unreal.
● Collaborate with architects and designers to align visuals with design intent.
2. AI Workflows with ComfyUI
● Design custom ComfyUI workflows to enhance Unreal outputs and accelerate
iteration.
● Generate controlled AI renderings from sketches, screenshots, or partial 3D inputs.
● Apply techniques like ControlNet, In-Painting, Conditional Prompting, Flux Context,
and IP Adapter to deliver consistent visuals aligned with architectural geometry.
● Use AI to produce conceptual renderings when full 3D assets aren’t available.
3. Scripting & Automations
● Write Python scripts or use blueprint to automate rendering tasks in Unreal.
● Integrate scripts with cloud services via REST APIs to upload/download assets
between Unreal and Buildplan’s platform.
● Build simple UIs for artists using Unreal’s UMG (Unreal Motion Graphics) widget
system.
Qualifications
Must-Have
● Strong rendering skills in Unreal Engine / Twinmotion.
● Solid grasp of Unreal’s material system, texturing, lighting, and procedural setups.
● Strong Photoshop skills for texture creation.
● Proficiency with ComfyUI and advanced AI workflows (ControlNet, In-Painting,
Conditional Prompting, Flux, IP Adapter).
● Strong prompt engineering skills to produce consistent AI results.
● Proficiency in Python and Unreal Blueprints for workflow logic.
● Ability to deliver under tight deadlines, iterating quickly on client-facing renderings.
● Basic familiarity with Revit (or willingness to learn) for quick geometry/material edits.
Nice-to-Have
● Knowledge of C++ for Unreal plugin development.
● Experience with WebGL / panorama publishing (PlayCanvas, Three.js, etc.).
● Prior experience creating hybrid rendering workflows that blend CGI and AI.
What We Offer
● The opportunity to work on high-end architectural projects with a diverse group of
architects and designers.
● A chance to create impactful visuals that shape design decisions
● Exposure to the cutting edge of AI-enhanced rendering, combining CGI with tools like
ComfyUI, ControlNet, and Flux.
● Room to experiment with scripts and automations that streamline rendering workflows.
● A flexible, remote work environment with part-time hours to start, with potential to
expand to full-time.
