About Buildplan
Buildplan is a tech-enabled design-build platform powered by a collaborative workspace where
AEC teams and AI agents get work done together, delivering design excellence within budget,
and on time. At its core is a collaborative workspace that moves projects from concept to
completion powered by our building construction graph — a digital twin of the project where
designs, specifications, digital models, estimates, and tasks are all connected. Every project
decision lives in one structured environment, replacing scattered PDFs, digital models, and
spreadsheets.
We are reinventing BIM and the Common Data Environment (CDE) to support modern,
connected, collaborative workflows. With extensions that connect directly to industry-standard
desktop software like Revit, a real-time online workspace for teams, and a marketplace that
bridges design and supply chain, Buildplan delivers smarter procurement, seamless
collaboration, and mobile-first access in the field — eliminating costly rework and keeping
projects on track.
BuildPlan acts as your design-build partner, connecting you with vetted professionals and a
marketplace of trusted product vendors. Our platform provides the collaborative digital
backbone that streamlines design coordination, procurement, and construction workflows. The
result is a seamless path from concept to completion, with projects delivered on time and on
budget.
Who You Are
You’re a software developer and computational designer who thrives at the intersection of
modeling and coding. You’re passionate about BIM 2.0 and excited to rethink broken AEC
workflows. You stay current with industry innovations and startups, and you’re driven to create
better tools for building professions, tools that let architect focus on design intent and
constructors on building rather than struggeling to manage outdated processes.
You’re equally comfortable writing C# scripts, building Revit plugins, and working with web
development as you are executing modeling workflows. You enjoy the fast feedback loop of
building a tool, testing it on a real project, and refining it until it works. You want to design the
workflows that will scale across teams and help redefine how the AEC industry collaborates,
designs, and builds.
You thrive in a startup environment where workflows are unstructured, processes are evolving,
and priorities can shift quickly. You’re agile, comfortable working without rigid direction, and
eager to be part of shaping how workflows and roles are defined.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage company where you’ll both develop strategic
workflows and apply them on real-life projects. You will primarily be working on tools to help
designers create high quality BIM models,
This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage company where you’ll both develop strategic
workflows and apply them on real-life projects. You’ll help shape a design management
platform that ensures design intent, costs, and contracts are aligned before projects move to
the field, and a construction execution system that makes sure work in the field is done
efficiently and correctly.
The work spans both desktop development in C# (Revit API, plugins) and web
development. You’ll be expected to connect Revit workflows to modern SaaS systems —
working with REST APIs, online databases, and backend services where the majority of our
business logic will live.
1. Software Development & Computational Design
● Apply software design patterns and system architecture principles, evaluating
trade-offs to design scalable, maintainable workflows.
● Design scan-to-BIM, BIM to takeoff, BIM to Unreal workflows and integration between
Digital Asset Management system and online product catalog
● Build and maintain custom Revit plugin, scripts, and automation workflows (C#,
Revit API, Dynamo)
● Integrate local plugin with cloud based services through REST API
● Develop and maintain server-side code in Node.js, including business logic and REST
API endpoints to connect server, online database and Revit plugin
● Design and execute basic UI for plugin using windows forms or WPF or using CefSharp
and React
2. BIM Management & Modeling
● Apply the workflows you develop to active projects, ensuring they function in production
environments.
● Audit and process Revit models submitted by architects on our platform using automated
and manual processes so they can be used seamlessly in our rendering, estimation,
procurement, and fabrication workflows
● Execute scan-to-BIM workflows using automated and manual processes
● Create Revit templates, Revit families, and define standards for BIM-to-database
integrations.
● Assist in training of offshore drafters/modeler, integrate user feedback into software
development
Qualifications
Must-Have

● Firm understanding of best practices in creating Revit Families, managing standards and
shared parameters
● C# and Revit plugin development experience.
● Proficiency in Node.js for backend development, including creating REST APIs and
implementing business logic.
● Strong understanding of BIM standards, construction documentation, and
design-to-fabrication workflows.
● Experience with point clouds / scan-to-BIM workflows.
● Solid programming fundamentals, a strong understanding of design patterns, and the
ability to write production-quality code.
● Ability to work with AI coding tools and manage AI coding Agents
Nice-to-Have
● Familiarity with CefSharp or embedding web apps in desktop environments.
● Basic understanding of React and front-end web-development
● Architectural or Construction Management experience
What We Offer
