Why this role exists
Coastline is on a mission to eradicate car crashes. We do this to help people become safe and confident drivers for life. Our small engineering team develops software to operationalize this goal: online booking, scheduling, e-com, CRM, etc.. We’re looking for a Product Manager who also owns delivery—someone who can turn strategy into specs and mockups, then own execution to production. We ship many times per day to prod and we aim to ship faster and build higher quality products by filling this role.
What you’ll do
Convert strategy to plans
Translate roadmap themes into PRDs with goals, non-functional requirements, edge cases, success metrics, and acceptance criteria.
Produce lightweight wireframes/user flows (Figma or v0, etc.); use AI tools to accelerate drafts, alternatives, and docs.
Slice initiatives into milestones; define “Definition of Ready/Done.”
Work with end users to thoroughly understand use cases, UI and UX needs
Prioritize feature work against bugs and tech debt to ensure the long-term health of the system
Own delivery once work starts
Run the day-to-day cadence (planning, stand-ups, reviews/retros)
Keep team on track and on pace
Maintain statuses, priorities, dependencies in GitHub Projects
Drive estimates, manage risk/issue logs, unblock teams, and propose trade-offs (scope, sequence, staffing).
Coordinate QA, docs, release notes, and handoffs.
Make us smarter over time
Instrument success metrics; partner on analytics (events/funnels) and close the loop with learnings.
Create durable templates and automation for PRDs, tickets, checklists, and status reporting.
Champion a culture of shipping.
You may be a fit if you have
5–8+ years in PM or PM/TPM roles at startups/scaleups (teams of ~3–10 engineers).
Strong product craft: PRDs, ACs, user flows, story mapping, non-functional requirements.
Proven delivery management: planning, estimation, dependency/risk mgmt, scope control.
Fluency with Figma (low-/mid-fi), AI-assisted PM work (docs, wireframes, QA plans, release notes).
Confidence with product analytics like funnel metrics
Confidence operating GitHub Projects (or similar) as the board of record.
Technical fluency collaborating on a stack like Next.js + TypeScript, Firebase, MongoDB, GraphQL (Apollo), microservices in Python—you don’t need to code, but you reason well about constraints and trade-offs.
Excellent written/spoken communication; clear, concise, and respectfully assertive.
Nice to have
Basic SQL or ability to drive an AI to do data analysis.
Experimentation exposure (feature flags, A/B basics).
Experience with AI tools like V0, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc., to accelerate work.
How we work
Planning/Tracking: GitHub Projects, issue templates, lightweight estimation.
Design: AI UI tools.
Data: Product analytics + dashboards (BigQuery + Looker).
Docs/Comms: Tight written comms; short, frequent check-ins. Constant communication via Slack
Responsibility: Intense levels of ownership and autonomy
Teamwork: Transparent feedback loop and ego-less peer reviews of code and work
