About the job:
We are currently looking for a CAD Drafter to join our team. CAD Drafters work closely with Engineers and are responsible for the Production and Quality Control of Civil Plans including site layout/design, erosion control (SWPPP), grading and drainage, wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drain), stormwater treatment (LID and WQMP) and street improvement plans. DKE uses AutoCad and also incorporates Civil3D when generating Profiles and Earthwork Quantities (Civil 3D experience is not a requirement for hire).

Minimum Requirements:
AutoCAD certification or Associate’s Degree
Relevant drafting experienced preferred
Working knowledge of Bluebeam or Adobe
Familiarity with AutoCad and Civil 3D a plus (see below)
Ability to work independently and on a team
Effectively communicate with engineers

CAD related job duties:
Able to use basic CAD commands for setting up Plan sheets
Knowledge of Annotative Text in CAD
Knowledge of “xrefs” – how to create them/work with them
Work with Viewports
Able to follow provided standards, such as specific scales, fonts, sizes, linetypes and colors for specific items
Plot to PDF using Sheet Manager
Bluebeam – Used as tool for Engineers to provide CAD with Redlines. In which CAD would highlight the completed items, make notes/comments for the Engineer. And create new PDF sets within CAD for Engineer to review

Civil 3D Experience:
All entry level items PLUS …
Create Existing and Rough Grading Surfaces, using features lines (based on Existing Contours provided by Survey, and/or Elevations on Plan)
Cut Profiles using Alignments.
Annotate, when necessary, in 3D, following 3D templates provided.
Generate cut/fill Quantities.
