Role and Responsibilities
• Monitor and analyze economic indicators, such as inflation rates, employment levels, and GDP growth, to assess the overall health of the economy.
• Collect and consolidate primary and secondary data on economic and social variables in Argentina, Latin America and the world, including both macro and micro variables and the real and financial economy.
• Build, process, and analyze databases to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
• Conduct background research and comprehensive literature reviews on relevant economic topics to support analysis and decision-making.
• Summarize data in user friendly formats (charts, tables, etc.) for the preparation of reports, economic intelligence, presentations and other outputs.
• Analyze economic data to assess how public policies and regulations affect different economic sectors, companies, and the overall economy, with a special emphasis on trade and investment.
• Collaborate with senior economists and other team members to develop and implement economic models and forecasting tools and techniques, including econometric and statistical analysis, to assess economic conditions and predict future trends, and conduct economic impact assessments and policy evaluations.
• Assist in preparing clear, concise and insightful reports and presentations on the above topics, including written and visual outputs.
• Work alongside Quipu's senior analysts and partners to provide advice and operational support for client stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Stay updated on relevant economic theories, methodologies, and best practices to enhance economic analysis techniques.
• Engage with teams across the organization to support Quipu's vision and mission.
Essential Requirements
• Advanced student or bachelor’s degree in economics or related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both Spanish and English.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-work abilities.
• Broad understanding international business, politics, and public policy.
• Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to follow specific tasks through to completion.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Ability to work independently, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple work assignments under time pressure and tight deadlines.
• Advanced research and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit, including Excel, Power Point and Word.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn, contribute, and grow within a dynamic team environment.
• Preferred location: City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Optional Skills
• Knowledge of Stata, SPSS, R, or other similar statistical software.
• Knowledge of Python, or other similar programming languages.
