Project Controllers are responsible for supporting one or more projects business teams through providing comprehensive financial support and implementation of project management controls. Responsibilities often include budgeting, forecasting, reporting & analysis, business process improvement, and month end project settlement activities. This highly visible position requires regular interaction with internal and external customers as well as interactions with senior level staff members of the business and finance team.
Responsibilities Project Controller:
- As a project controller you are the co-pilot of the business, part of the core Business team and part Finance team.
- You ensure the project is managed within budget, with quality standards, within a set timeframe and within the defined risk spectrum.
- You provide an adequate basis for accounting within the project, in line with finance standards.
- You are also an expert in the field of finance and accounting and focus on the financial reports, understanding the business and developments and changes to your actual performance, internal control framework, and control measures.
- You support in ensuring compliance with all financial laws and regulations and you are jointly responsible for managing the various Audits and internal control processes.
- Be a business partner towards the business team and look for opportunities.
- Preparing monthly budget controls against Plan and Forecast.
- Translate business developments into your Actuals and Forecast.
- Analyses on differences in Plan and Forecast versus actuals.
- Assisting contract & statement of work: AP invoicing, AR outstanding and PO set up.
- Overseeing the internal and external audits and preparing necessary documents.
- Acting as contact for implementation of the best practice AO/IC.
- Ensuring that the business complies with Group policies and Financial Control best practices.
- Preparing and Assessing the prudence used in accounting for Balance Sheet positions.
Requirements Project Controller:
- Bachelor's degree in business economics, econometrics, accountancy or business analytics.
- Strong personality which has a positive/critical mind-set, helicopter view, feels accountable, is analytical, communicative, team focused and pragmatic;
- You have good analytical skills and are detail oriented.
- Experience with budget control and complex Excel functions.
- Fluency in English is a must.
